ST. LOUIS -- A cold start, but today will be a big improvement from yesterday. Sunshine and breezy but highs climb up into the mid to upper 60s. A cold front dips into northern Missouri and stalls tonight into tomorrow. A few showers and storms will develop overnight and continue into early Monday. These could impact the morning commute, but hopefully they'll be east of the St. Louis area by then. These showers exit to the east, and then we'll see a mix of clouds and sun for Monday afternoon. Still breezy, but temperatures even warmer, up into the lower half of the 70s. For Tuesday, questions still remain on the severe threat. Tuesday will be warm, with highs around 80. The extent of severe weather will depend on the timing of the cold front. If the cold front comes through overnight, when instability is much lower, the threat will be lowered. If it were to come through earlier, then they'll be a higher threat. It does look like our atmosphere is capped through Tuesday afternoon whe...Visitation for Jacque Mitchell Sunday

Denver East began the season with an overtime loss to Class 5A Windsor and a blowout defeat to Fossil Ridge — an inauspicious start that turned out to be a red herring for the Angels’ historic season.Coach Rudy Carey made a lineup change after those defeats, at a time when the Angels were unranked in the CHSAA poll. Carey moved seniors Austin Mohr and D’Aundre Samuels from guard to forward, and put senior shooting guard Jack Greenwood into the starting lineup. From there, the Angels ripped off 26 wins in a row en route to the Class 6A state title. Along the way, Carey broke the CHSAA record for most career wins and won his record 10th state title when Denver East beat Fossil Ridge 82-61 in a payback game in the championship at Denver Coliseum. The win also tied Denver East with Manual for the most hoops titles all-time at 12.That string of feats from a team with no Division I commits is why Carey is the 2023 Denver Post All-Colorado boys’ coach of the year.“Th...The Denver Post’s 2023 All-Colorado boys basketball team

PHOENIX – As Sean Payton made the media rounds in the week leading up to the Super Bowl here in the Valley of the Sun, he sounded in interview after interview like a coach who knew exactly what he was getting into in his return to the NFL as the Broncos’ new head coach. And why wouldn’t he? Payton had done extensive research on the organization. He came away thoroughly impressed by the Walton-Penner Family Ownership Group and the feeling was mutual. He developed a quick enough connection with general manager George Paton in their four-plus hour mid-January meeting in Los Angeles to constitute a starting point. He knew enough about Russell Wilson based on a decade facing him and a couple of stints coaching him at the Pro Bowl to at least come away with the baseline impression that the quarterback is competitive and willing to work. Most jobs don’t come available if everything is hunky dory, he figured, and of the five that did open up this offseason, the Broncos had quite a bit to work...The Denver Post’s 2023 All-Colorado girls basketball team
